Corporation for Public Broadcasting Funds Two (!) Public Radio Talent Quest Finalists
Last spring, the Public Radio Exchange (PRX) began the questfor the newest public radio talent. Anyone could submit a two-minute audio entry demonstrating "hostiness." After four rounds and 1,400+ entries from all over the country, three winners were chosen and given $10,000 each to develop pilots. Today, two of the three finalists, Al Letson and Glynn Washington, were chosen by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to develop their pilots into programs over the course of the next year.
In lieu of issuing a press release with the announcement, PRX and CPB produced a video featuring the President and CEO of CPB Pat Harrison introducing the three winners.
Congrats to Al and Glynn, and to Majora Carter, the founder of Sustainable South Bronx -- who was also chosen to develop a program on leadership. (Also, not to be missed: Majora's talk at TED)
