Gretchen was the Berkman Klein Center's former Communications Manager. Before joining the center, she was at Google, leading a content strategy team focused on product development and user experience.
Prior to Google, Gretchen was a journalist at KQED, the NPR affiliate in San Francisco, filing radio reports on the environment and contributing stories to Climate Watch, a multimedia project covering climate change issues in California. She's worked in corporate sustainability at Hewlett-Packard, taught high school history and AP Human Geography, and produced a series of successful grant proposals for a variety of public media initiatives. Gretchen's also spent time outdoors, leading wilderness expeditions as an adventure travel guide and Outward Bound instructor. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Yale and a M.A. in Journalism from NYU.
