Peter B. Kaufman

Alt Text

Peter works on strategic initiatives at MIT Open Learning and is an advisor to the Nymity project at the Berkman Klein Center. His new book, The New Enlightenment and the Fight to Free Knowledge (Seven Stories Press, 2021), catalogs some of the monstrous forces that have sought to limit our access to knowledge. Edward Snowden has said that his “call for a new Enlightenment couldn’t be more timely, or more necessary. His polemic against those who purport to own knowledge shows that knowledge is freedom and can belong to all or to none. The choice is ours.”
