Allister Chang is the Executive Director of Libraries Without Borders (LWB), a non-profit whose mission is to reinforce the autonomy of disadvantaged communities by expanding access to educational and cultural tools.
LWB has won the Google Impact Challenge and the Library of Congress' International Literacy Award. In 2017, Allister created the "Wash & Learn Initiative" (WALI) to transform coin laundromats into extensions of the public library, offering digital tools and facilitated workshops for families while they wait for their laundry to wash and dry. Allister holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was elected President of the Student Government, and a B.A. in History (summa cum laude) from Tufts University.
